WeLINK Conference Server | Anytime, Anywhere Meetings
Conferencing and meetings are the core fabric of an organization’s daily agenda. Improving this core process by facilitating easy access to meetings at the lowest possible cost will not only drive productivity, but will dramatically reduce core communications and operating costs.
The WeLINK Conference Server is a SIP-based conferencing application, which can run stand-alone or can be loaded directly onto an existing IP Messenger Unified Communications server providing organizations with a simple consolidated solution for all their messaging, mobility, presence and conferencing needs.
WeLINK Conference Services
The following services are included with the conference server:
- On-Demand Conference Calling — Users can initiate On-Demand conference calls by inviting others to join an active call right from their handsets, mobile phones and softphones. The server will call the number and extend the invitation to the desired participant. On-Demand conference calls are limited to 24 parties total, including the conference initiator.
- Meet Me Conference Calling — Meet-Me Conference calls are for up to 24 participants scheduled in advance. With unlimited rooms, each user in your organization has a dedicated conference space and can simply schedule meetings. All participants are able to both hear and speak. Room owners can setup private rooms in each conference to break off the main call for quick private sessions.
- Audio Auditorium — Audio Auditorium mode conference calls are for larger groups of 10 to 24 participants. The key difference between this service and Meet Me conference calling is that during an Auditorium conference call, a client moderator controls which participants speak. This prevents participants from talking over each other and background noises interfering with sound quality. The client moderator controls speaking access directly over the phone — whether or not they can speak and which participants are "raising their hands." The moderator mutes and un-mutes individual participants at their discretion.
- Recording and Logging of Meetings and Group Sessions — WeLINK not only provides adhoc access to instant collaboration, but it can also record the whole session and provide a detailed record of what was discussed, so the information can be shared amongst participants for review. This is excellent for large group presentations and training sessions where users can listen to the meeting notes.
Configuration Options
At any given time, the system can support up to a maximum of 24 parties in a single room and up to 48 channels in a single system, with the ability to configure unlimited private rooms. This means that a maximum of 48 people can simultaneously connect to the conference server. To increase the maximum number of channels, additional servers can be added along with additional channel resources from the switch.
Platform Architecture
The architecture of the WeLINK platform not only allows it to work with eOn’s Millennium, eQueue and the eConn IP-PBX, but the pure openness of its SIP stack enables it to work with multiple phone systems with different interfaces simultaneously. This means that an organization can setup the conference service and configure it to connect to multiple locations, delivering real-time conferencing to ALL locations.

WeLINK and IP Messenger Integration
When deploying a consolidated configuration of WeLINK Conference Server with the IP Messenger platform, there are several enhanced functions available to Unified Communication users that leverage the conferencing service:
- Rich Presence — Users can see the status of other users and their extension to easily add them to a conference using the UC Client Manager software.
- Contact Integration — IP Messenger will reference the caller ID information with your contact database for proper identification of the conference participants.
- Speaker Markers — Markers are automatically created on a recorded file which allows you to see who was speaking at any given moment.
- Live E-mail Reports and Meeting Notes — UC users will instantly be notified after each conference regarding the status and details of the conference, including who participated, their phone number and duration time of speaking.
- Conference Transcription — Recorded conference calls can be automatically emailed to a transcription service that will convert the speech to text and send you a text script of the conversation.
